Landini Inaudito aims to provide the recordings of some of the songs by Francesco degli Organi (Landini) that have never appeared in previous releases. The performances are based on the critical editions developed by Antonio Calvia, Davide Checchi, and Michele Epifani for the ArsNova project database, which were made available to the ensemble Fioran directed by Giovanni Cantarini. Some of the tracks contain the very first recordings of a specific version, as in the case of the ballata Di sospirar sovente in the version transmitted by the San Lorenzo Palimpsest, published for the first time in Calvia, Some Notes. For the pieces that had a limited discography, we decided to offer an ‘unreleased’ performance combination, namely a fully or partially vocal rendition for those works that had hitherto only been recorded in instrumental arrangements. On the same occasion, the two anonymous ballatas Cosa non è ch’a sé tanto mi tiri and Po’ che veder non posso la mie dona were also recorded.

The recording session took place at the ex-church of Santa Caterina in Monte Cerignone (PU), from September 14 to 18, 2022.
